What changed

Nothing moved for the second straight week. All 24 listings we track at Refrigerants Center, Imperial Refrigerants, Refrigerant Depot and Refrigerant Guys show the same price as last check (Oct 19 for R-454B, R-32, R-410A and R-22; Oct 21 for R-134a and R-404A). No listing went out of stock. Refrigerant Depot now shows its R-134a and R-404A cylinders in stock, and still shows 7 R-454B 20 lb cylinders.

Per pound

R-454B ($23.35/lb median) still costs about 2.4x R-410A ($9.78/lb). R-32 sits at $12.10/lb. R-134a ($11.49/lb) and R-404A ($11.84/lb) are close to each other. R-22 still has the widest spread: $449 to $900 for the same 30 lb size.

Contractor reports

Two new Reddit reports this week. A commercial contractor said they pay $185 for a 25 lb cylinder of R-410A (r/hvacadvice, Aug 28, 2026), well under the $217 lowest online list price. A tech said he bought a 30 lb jug of R-22 online from Cool Mate Gas for $340 shipped (r/HVAC, May 24, 2026). Contractor reports are shown separately and are not part of the retail medians.
